Centennial Mission Statement

 The Church in the World:  Water is a gift from God for all of God's creation. We are focusing on the water needs of the world, and, in particular, supporting the community of Chepkechir in Northwest Kenya to raise the height of its sand dam and install a water pump.

The Church of the Future:  We are lifting up and supporting our Centennial Seminarians Andrew Shepherd and Janis Brown as they begin seminary during our Centennial Celebration.

Spring of Holy Hope,
pour your living waters
into our hearts;
River of Grace,
let your renewing water well up in us;
Deep Source of Love, God of All Life,
let your living water wash over us,
so that floods of compassion,
and streams of justice,
and currents of peace
will flow from our hearts
into the world....

Centennial Moment
1910 ~ FCC Mesa ~ 2010

The Rev. W. H. Salyer, an “Evangelist with Scriptural Authority”, was the State Field Secretary charged with evangelizing the Territory of Arizona for the Christian Church as a new century dawned. His “Evangelistic Meeting” in Mesa in spring of 1910 bore fruit. As a result of his church planting and “exhortation”, FCC Mesa was born. Rev. Salyer eventually moved on to California, worked for the YWCA during WWI, then returned to church work. He was promoted to glory in the 1940s.
